Blog Entry #1

 

       A feature of my own reading and writing processes I see in new ways is planning. I used to just make a brainstorm list but there are so many other ways to plan. Some of these ways include outlines and researching with notes. I used to just make a brainstorming list then go straight into writing not realizing I missing a very important which is prewriting. Something else I never considered when prewriting was considering who my audience is, it is something I never really thought of (p. 6). This is something I am going to do from now on because it will help me in the long run when prewriting to consider who I'm writing for. 

    I think something else that will help me that I have never done before when planning/drafting would be using a graphic organizer. I have never really thought about doing this as well because this is something I have done when younger but not since I've been in college. I plan on doing this when writing the Genre Pieces Project. I also think considering the purpose of writing is something else that is going to really help me when I begin to write for this assignment. When considering my audience, this will help me maintain the type of written language needed in order to successfully complete this project adequately. 

Before writing my blog, I will read out the questions before answering them. This will help me plan out what I want to say and how I want to answer the questions. I will as well be able to go into the book and find the texts I want to talk about in my blog as well as what pages the information I want to talk about is on in the book.         

    As said before I will begin to pre-write and plan by creating an outline first of how I want to present the assignment. I will also read on the topic that I choose and do research. I will take notes on what I read that way I can have it planned out before I begin writing my actual rough draft.  I will begin to plan my project by research and I will also use a graphic organizer as well. I will be able to organize my thoughts along with my research and notes. I feel like this is something that will be very helpful in the long run when I begin to draft the assignment. Research is a very important piece to this project and the information that I find as well to talk about.
